![]() ![]() The game's main plot is rather typical Spider-Man fare. Compared to that, everything else comes second. Not only is the gameplay top notch, but there is a substantial amount of varied content to enjoy too. When a game offers you fast travel options and you just don't care, you know that traversing the world has been done right. ![]() Ranging from combat, which follows the tried and tested Arkham formula, to perhaps the game's highlight which is swinging around the city. The second thing I noticed was just how damn well the game does what it does. Nor does it do anything in particular I haven't seen done before. It could be Activision's now delisted Amazing Spider-Man it reminded me of, I'm not certain, but the game is definitely not very original. I couldn't quite place it, but it really felt like I had played this game before. The first thing that made an impression was how familiar the game felt. I was finally ready to wear my red and blue spandex yet again and swing around New York city. ![]() Thankfully, the game eventually made it to the PC and some time later, my PC. As a fan of the Arkham series and as such perfectly aware that video games can really do justice to comic book heroes and their universes, even when comic books fail, my annoyance simply was exacerbated further. As such, I was really quite peeved that this game, which was lauded as the best Spider-Man game ever by much of the press, was a PlayStation exclusive. He has been since I learnt how to spell Make Mine Marvel over 30 years ago. ![]()
